Arsenal Lands

So being a GTA resident, I decided to check out the Long Branch Arsenal Lands today for the first time. Nice location with an off-leash dog park, but I think beyond the fence is what we are all looking for. The water tower is nicely in tact in a beautiful open field. I thought it would be tricky to find the actual building but by following footpaths and graffiti it didn't take too long. The actual structure is separated from an immediate construction site to the west. I'm timid when it comes to walking into potentially illegal areas, so i set the tripod and checked out the scenery for awhile. I noticed a strange man pacing about the property, shirtless and carrying what appeared to be a 2 litre bottle of cola. That's weird to me and I travel alone, so I thought I might check around back to see if there was an alternate entrance I might catch a few shots. Following another path I found myself faced with a "RADIOACTIVE" warning. Seriously? Turns out this peaceful little location is actually a Uranium burial ground. On Lakeshore. By the lake. Where the soil drains into our drinking water. Isn't that nice? Now, I am no chemist or nuclear physicist but I was a little alarmed when I started looking up some details. PM me for exact documentation, but I'll attach a screenshot for curiosity sake. Anyways, shortly after taking some shots of the radioactive sign, I caught sight of the weird shirtless guy again doing something weird, so I took off. Still curious to see the location, slightly distraught about the uranium but still glad I wasn't stabbed to death by wandering weirdos. We should all be grateful for every day we spend un-stabbed.
